Telangana CM Revanth Reddy calls PM Modi as ‘Big Brother’, Seeks Support for Telangana’s Progress

On Monday, in a public rally in Adilabad, Congress ruled Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his ‘Big Brother’. Reddy emphasized the need for Telangana to adopt the Gujrat model for progress and also requested the PM’s support for developing the state.

PM Modi is currently on a tour to Telangana before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. On Monday, he laid the foundation stone for over 30 development projects worth more than Rs 56,000 crore in Adilabad, Telangana.

Speaking in Hindi at the rally, CM Revanth Reddy said, “Hamare hisaab se Pradhan Mantri matlab bade bhai” (according to us, Prime Minster means our elder brother) and “Only with his help, the Chief Ministers can lead their states forward.”

He also added, “If Telangana has to develop like Gujrat, your help is necessary and we want to contribute to your vision of $5 trillion economy, this term.”

PM Modi also addressed the gathering in Adilabad, stating, “The country’s 140 crore population is my family” and “The BJP is committed to the development of the nation.”

During the event, the prime minister integrated NTPC’s 800 MW(Unit-2) Telangana Super Thermal Power Project in Peddapalli. This project uses ultra-supercritical technology, will provide 85% of the power to Telangana, and boasts the highest power generation efficiency of around 42% among all NTPC power stations.
