Strategic Alliance: TDP and JSP Form Alliance with BJP-Led NDA for Upcoming Elections
Andhra Pradesh’s political scenario is set for a major transformation as two key players, N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party (JSP), decide to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement was made by BJP President J.P. Nadda through a tweet on X. It reveals that the former N Chandrababu Naidu, the head of the TDP, and Pawan Kalyan, the actor and politician-led JSP, have committed to being a part of the NDA coalition.
This decision comes after N. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan talked extensively with key BJP figures, such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J. P. Nadda.
A joint statement has been released by the BJP President JP Nadda, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, and JSP Chief Pawan Kalyan. They mentioned in the statement that “The modalities of seat sharing will be deliberated within a day or two.”
It is also said in the statement, “The BJP and TDP have a very old relationship together. TDP joined NDA in 1996 and has worked together successfully in Atal Ji’s and Narendra Modi Ji’s governments. In 2014, the TDP and the BJP fought the Lok Sabha election and assembly election together.”
“The JSP had supported the 2014 general and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.”

Expressing confidence in the newly formed alliance, Naidu stated that the collaboration of the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party would lead to a “clean sweep” in the upcoming general elections and Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls.
However, on February 25th, TDP and JSP jointly released their first list of 99 candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, and at that time, Pawan Kalyan stated that if the BJP came forward, they would take a call on the allotment of seats to that party accordingly. That means the seat sharing for 76 seats will be decided as per the BJP-TDP-JSP seat-sharing agreement.
