Rahul Gandhi Highlights Congress Guarantees in Kozhikode, Kerala

In a recent rally held in Kozhikode, Kerala, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reiterated the party’s election guarantees outlined in their manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Gandhi highlighted the key guarantees offered by the Congress across various sectors, encapsulated under five major themes: Yuva Nyay, Hissedari Nyay, Nari Nyay, Kisan Nyay, and Shramik Nyay. These guarantees encompass initiatives ranging from job creation, social security measures, empowerment of women, and agricultural reforms to ensuring the welfare of laborers and marginalized communities.

Yuva Nyay

In the “Yuva Nyay” segment, promises such as creating 30 lakh new central government jobs, providing apprenticeships for educated youth, and ensuring better working conditions for gig workers were emphasized.

Hissedari Nyay

Under “Hissedari Nyay,” the manifesto promises to remove the 50% cap on SC/ST/OBC reservations, settle Forest Rights Act claims within a year, and ensure equal budget allocation for SC/ST communities.

Nari Nyay

For “Nari Nyay,” initiatives like providing financial assistance to women from poor families, implementing 50% reservation for women in central government jobs, and doubling the number of hostels for working women were highlighted.

Kisan Nyay

In the “Kisan Nyay” section, the manifesto guarantees a legal Minimum Support Price (MSP) as per the Swaminathan Commission recommendations, a standing loan waiver commission for farmers, and stable import-export policies to benefit farmers.

Shramik Nyay

Under “Shramik Nyay,” promises include a right to health law providing universal healthcare, a national minimum wage of Rs. 400/day, and employment guarantee acts for urban areas.

During his speech, Gandhi also took a swipe at the BJP and RSS, accusing them of attacking him relentlessly and using investigative agencies against him. He questioned why the Kerala CM was targeting him instead of criticizing the BJP’s actions.

Gandhi also criticized Prime Minister Modi’s electoral bond scheme, alleging it to be an “extortion racket” designed to benefit corporate donors to the BJP. He cited examples of companies donating large sums to the BJP and receiving favors in return.

With Kerala boasting 20 Lok Sabha seats, scheduled for elections on April 26th, the stakes are high as Congress aims to secure support by emphasizing its promises for inclusive growth while simultaneously criticizing the BJP’s policies and actions.
